USSA May Member Connect Recap: Conversations That Count
The U.S. Superyacht Association’s May Member Connect was hosted on Thursday, May 29th by Alex Anagnostis of Total Marine Solutions at the iconic Lauderdale Yacht Club. Set against the stunning Intracoastal backdrop, the evening brought together a dynamic mix of members for meaningful dialogue and connection.

Advocacy Chairman Joe Dargavage kicked off the night with a warm welcome and remarks on the state of the industry. The conversation then flowed into a candid, town hall-style discussion led by Executive Director Frank Gernert, with Alex moderating. Topics ranged from current events and industry trends to the USSA’s evolving strategy and programming — all shared in an open, honest format that reflects the transparent engagement members can continue to expect. One of our members, Anita Turcotte of Verge Yacht Design, even traveled in from Savannah to join us — a testament to how these events strengthen connections and build on momentum from past programs like the recent Superyacht Experience in Savannah.
The USSA remains deeply committed to industry advocacy and the success of member-focused activations including supporting the Newport Charter Show, hosting the annual Golf Tournament, FLIBS, and METSTRADE. These events aren’t just tradition — they’re strategic platforms designed to help our members connect, grow, and thrive.
Thank you to our members who continue to show up and shape the future of our industry.
