John E. Graykowski

Maritime Consultants & former Deputy Maritime Administrator,
U.S. Department of Transportation

 

John Graykowski has over 30 years experience in government and the private sector. He spent 15 years as a professional staff member in the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate, including serving as legislative director to a Senator and maritime counsel to the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee.  In 1994, John was appointed by President Clinton to serve as Deputy Maritime Administrator in the U.S. Department of Transportation, and later served as Acting Administrator, where he managed implementation of the National Shipbuilding Initiative and development of the Marine Transportation System initiative. Johns private-sector work includes serving in three Washington, D.C. law firms and as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Aker Philadelphia Shipyard.
