USSA Southeast Regional September Member Event Recap: A Night on the Water Taxi

The U.S. Superyacht Association (USSA) hosted a memorable Southeast Regional September Member Event aboard the iconic Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. The evening brought together industry leaders and colleagues for a night of networking, celebration, and community, made even better by unseasonably perfect weather.

Industry Collaboration & FLIBS Preview

The event featured representatives from the Marine Industries Association of South Florida (MIASF), Informa, and USSA Executive Director Frank Gernert, who offered members an insider preview of the upcoming Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). The update spotlighted USSA’s activations planned for the show and gave attendees a clear look at what’s ahead for one of the industry’s most important events.

Networking on the Water

Members gathered at the Riverside/Stranahan House Water Taxi Stop before embarking on a relaxing cruise through Fort Lauderdale’s waterways. Conversations flowed as easily as the evening’s refreshments, creating valuable opportunities to connect and exchange insights across all corners of the superyacht industry.

Entertainment & Atmosphere

Live music from Malcolm Flavell set the tone for the evening, providing the perfect soundtrack for a night of camaraderie and connection. Guests enjoyed drinks, light bites, and plenty of laughs as the Water Taxi carried them through the “Venice of America.”

With more than 50 attendees, the evening was a true testament to the power of the USSA community. From seasoned industry leaders to newer faces, everyone came together to celebrate, connect, and rally around what’s ahead. The energy was high, the turnout impressive, and the message clear: USSA’s strength lies in its members—and the fall season is shaping up to be one of the busiest and most exciting yet.
