Update on Heathrow Capacity Capping, Rising Fuel Charges and Reduced Inventory

From Global Marine Travel:

To Our Valued Clients:

As your trusted travel advisors, we take seriously our role in alerting our customers when market conditions change. Over the past months, we’ve all felt the pressures on air costs coming from external factors such as labor actions, lack of personnel at the airlines and airports, and rising fuel costs.

Just today, we’ve received an advisory from British Airways that effective immediately short-haul flights within Europe operating to/from Heathrow Airport are now closed for sale until 15 August 2022.

These flights will not be available to book via ba.com or any other agency – supplier outlet including GMT. This action will increase pressures on the other carriers within Europe, and we expect ticket prices to remain higher than average with an increased level of flight disruptions through the end of Summer across all carriers.

In addition, we now see increased fuel surcharges being levied against all tickets originating in the Philippines effective as of August 1st.
