Press Release USSA Announces New Board of Directors FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 5, 2007 FORT LAUDERDALE - With the close of an extremely successful first year, the U.S. Superyacht Association is pleased to announce the election of its newly expanded board for the 2007-08 eras. Tim Davey, President of Global Marine Travel has been appointed Chairperson, while Billy Smith, Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Trinity Yachts will sit as Vice Chair. The USSA’s goal is to continue to market the member’s companies worldwide and to help to increase the bottom line profits for all USSA members. The USSA is doing this by making the world aware of the tremendous business opportunities the U.S. has to offer in the Superyacht industry as well as tackle some important industry issues such as;
At a breakfast meeting at the Lauderdale Yacht club on May 18th, Tim Davey’s inaugural speech to the members stated, “We need to reach the law makers…and encourage the establishment of rules specific to our industry and not make us comply to the rules of the commercial shipping industry. Our industry has grown so much that we deserve to be looked at independently.” The U.S. Superyacht Association was formed in December of 2005 by a group of concerned and enterprising vendors in South Florida. Over the last year it has grown into an association with members worldwide. Membership is open to any businesses and/ or individuals who have a bona fide U.S. presence and activity in the Superyacht Industry.
